Why Donate?

Friends of PATA Manzanillo (Friends) is a publicly supported, non-profit Arizona corporation. Friends has no paid employees and our administration costs are virtually zero, so nearly 100 percent of your donation will help support animal welfare programs in Manzanillo, Mexico. Friends collects tax-deductible donations outside of Mexico and distributes those funds to the non-profit animal-help organizations working in Manzanillo.

Donors paid for anesthesia, pain medication,
antibiotics, sutures and surgery supplies such
as syringes, needles, mask, gauze, gloves, etc.

For example, through 2009, the various non-profit animal groups in Manzanillo sterilized over 1,900 animals. These sterilization programs, which are so vital to the health of the Manzanillo community, depend solely on donations to survive. It is programs such as these that Friends contributes to.

Donations Are Tax Exempt

Upon receipt of your donation, a receipt will be issued for your tax records. Please ensure that we receive your contact information along with your donation. Friends' application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is pending, but your U.S. donations are exempt from taxes right now, according to IRS Publication 4220, Applying for 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Status.

For Canadians, your country's tax laws are more stringent. Therefore we are going to work with Tides Canada to process our Canadian tax-exempt donations.

Make a safe and secure donation to Friends using either your credit card or your account by selecting the button below. By clicking on the button, you will be taken to the PayPal donation page, where you can fill in the amount you would like to donate to Friends, update the total, and then either log in to your PayPal account, or select the continue button next to the credit card symbols to process a secure donation using your credit card.

After filling in your account info on the secure checkout page, select submit, and that's it! For users of PayPal, your on-line receipt is all that the IRS requires for your tax files.

Donate Supplies and Materials

The local Manzanillo animal welfare organizations will thankfully accept donations of veterinary medical supplies and animal-related items. Each organization's website posts a wish lists of things they need, particularly items not available, locally. Please visit these organizations' sites to see how you can help, particularly if you are driving and have space in your vehicle to haul bulky items. Donations "in kind" to Friends are tax deductible. Please email Friends for more information about donating supplies to support animal causes in Manzanillo.

Please note that, in strict conformance with IRS guidelines, Friends of PATA Manzanillo does not accept contributions that are earmarked or required to be distributed to a specific organization or program. The Directors of Friends of PATA Manzanillo have complete discretion and control over any contributions received consistent with our exempt purposes. While donors may suggest that their gifts be used for a specific purpose, these requests are non-binding on Friends of PATA Manzanillo. This ensures that gifts made to Friends of PATA Manzanillo are tax-deductible and that Friends of PATA Manzanillo fulfills its duties and obligations as a U.S. tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donate Your Time - Volunteer

Whether you come to Manzanillo for vacation or you're a full-time resident, take a day and volunteer with one of our animal-welfare organizations.
